LineWise

AI Engineer to troubleshoot manufacturing line issues

LineWise is building an AI assistant for manufacturing teams to get their line back up and running. When a line goes down, it can take hours to identify the problem. Engineers and technicians scramble, chasing PLC data and logs, flipping through manuals and troubleshooting guides, while production stalls. LineWise connects siloed data from PLCs, maintenance logs, and machine manuals to triage potential causes for the issue at hand. Once the issue is resolved, LineWise will remember everything for the next time and advocate preventative actions.

TL;DR

LineWise is building an AI assistant for manufacturing teams to get their production lines back up and running - fast.

We connect siloed factory data (PLCs, maintenance logs, manuals) to triage faults, guide technicians to fixes, and capture every resolution for smarter troubleshooting in the future.

THE PROBLEM

When a line goes down, it can take hours to identify the problem. Engineers and technicians chase PLC logs, flip through outdated manuals, and rely on the one person who “just knows.” While production stalls, tribal knowledge disappears, and the same issues repeat.

THE SOLUTION

LineWise centralizes critical knowledge by integrating siloed data from IoT sensors, maintenance records, and machine manuals. It ranks the most likely causes and guides the team to a fix in just minutes. But the best part? It remembers every issue for next time and advocates for preventative actions.

How LineWise Works

🔧 Upload an error code image or describe the issue in a message.

🤖 The AI provides a refocused problem statement for confirmation.

📊 The AI dynamically ranks possible hypotheses of causes by probability.

🧠 A human validates each hypothesis to identify the true cause.

🛠️ Resolve the issue by following a step-by-step guide.

🔍 Conduct further investigation to uncover the root cause.

📚 Enrich the knowledge base with insights from the issue and resolution.

Hear from the founders

How did your company get started? (i.e., How did the founders meet? How did you come up with the idea? How did you decide to be a founder?)

The founders met at MIT. James was pursuing his MBA, having previously worked as an Operations Consultant at McKinsey and a CI Analyst at Rolls-Royce. Zhichu was completing his PhD in AI and Materials and built the world’s first autonomous lab. Wenbo had worked as a founding engineer at a robotics company and a food inspection startup ($100MN valuation), where he holds a patent. Recognizing the pressing need for AI in everyday manufacturing and operations, they joined forces to bring these capabilities to the front line.
